Barnabas Listening Prayer is a diverse Christian community with people of many ages and from many different backgrounds, thriving since 2011 thanks to God’s great grace. We explore the important role of listening prayer in a vibrant relationship with God. Prayer is simply communicating with God. It involves listening to what is on His heart in addition to expressing what is on our own.

We create opportunities for people to learn, practise and grow in their ability to hear and notice God in their daily lives.

Together we explore the many ways God communicates with us, as well as biblical methods of understanding and applying what we have heard.

Evenings generally include a brief biblical overview of the evening’s particular focus, free and open discussions, times for listening and exercises to increase our sensitivity to God.

The name Barnabas was borrowed from the travelling companion of the Apostle Paul. It means “son of encouragement.” Like Barnabas in the Bible, we earnestly desire to encourage the church.

We are excited for you to get to see GOHOP's new prayer room located at 1907 King St. E. in the former east-end home of Trinity Lutheran (across from the Metro grocery store). Please enter through the front doors.

PARKING: The parking lot is located behind the building.

DATE: The first Tuesday of every month from October 2024 until May 2025.

TIME: 7-9 pm
